أثر استعمال استراتيجية swom في التحصيل واستبقاء المعلومات لدى طالبات الصف الخامس الأدبي في مادة الجغرافية الطبيعية
This research aims to know (the Effect of Using (SWOM) strategy in the collection and retention of information for the fifth grade literary students in the material of natural geography. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher developed the following two zero hypotheses:1) There is no statistically significant difference at the level 0.05 between the collection of average scores of experimental group students who are studying natural geographical material (SWOM strategy) and average achievement scores of the group of control students who are studying natural geographical in the usual way. 2) There is no statistically significant difference at the level 0.05 between the average scores of retention of the information with the group of experimental students who are studying the natural geographic with (SWOM strategy) and the average grades retention of the information to the group of control students who are studying natural geographical material in the usual way. This research determined with sample of literary fifth-grade students in the preparatory and secondary diurnal schools which belongs to the center of the province of Babil and with themes of the natural geography book to be taught to for literary fifth grade students in Iraq for the second semester of the academic year 2012-2013. The researcher used the experimental design of partial control to research design, and the community of the research consisted of preparatory and secondary a diurnal school which belongs to the center of the province of Babil. The researcher chose randomly Al-Zarqaa preparatory school for girls, which includes two classes of preparatory literary fifth grade, and randomly selected classA to represent the experimental group, while class B represented the control group, and research sample reached 54 students of 27 students at the experimental group and 27 students in the control group. The researcher equalize among the two group of students of search statistically using the t- test for two independent samples at the following variables: (test scores intelligence, chronological age measured in months, and scores of natural geography in the mid year exam for the current academic year 2012/2013, and using the box (Kai) in the two variables educational attainment of parents. After the researcher has identified the Topics of scientific material to be studied during the duration of the experiment in three chapters, the researcher drafted the behavioral objectives, and prepared lesson plans for it, and it presented to a group of experts and specialists to judge of its validity, and conducted the necessary adjustments and the plans became ready for application in the light of their views. For the purpose of measuring the achievement of female groups research in the subjects that studied by the researcher herself, she prepared achievement test consist of 5 paragraph test 40, of it are objective paragraph from type (multiple choice), and 10 paragraphs from the type of essay paragraphs with a short answer, The researcher confirmed the veracity of the test and count of its persistence and also from the discriminatory powers and coefficients of difficultness of paragraphs objectivity and essay. After the ending of the experiment which lasted 9 weeks, the achievement test has applied on the two experimental and control students groups of the research, and then the researcher reapplied of the achievement test after three weeks for the purpose of measuring the retention of information, and after analyzing the results of answers of students and processed its statistically using the t- test for two independent samples to see significant difference at the level 0.05 between the two sets of research, clarify the following: There is a statistically significant difference between the average scores of (achievement, and retention of information) for the two sets of students research, with the interest of the experimental group students who studied natural geography by(SWOM strategy) . In light of the results that this research has reached the researcher concluded a number of conclusions, including: 1) The SWOM strategy increase collection and retention of information with students in a geography. 2) Correctness of what the most of the literarily emphasis on making student core teaching process, starting and ending from it, confirming the student's active participation in the learning process, and this is what confirmed by SWOM strategy.
