This study aimed at identifying the status of using educational technology in teaching Islamic education and the difficulties of using it through answering the following questions: 1) What is the status of using educational technology from the viewpoints of the teachers in some schools of Damascus? 2) What are the difficulties of using educational technology from the teachers’ viewpoints? 3) What are the opinions of the Islamic education teachers towards using educational technology in teaching? In order to achieve the purposes of this study, the researcher designed three questionnaires, which consisted of 17, 12 and 11 respectively. He consulted some specialists to check the content validity of the questionnaires. The sample is composed of 30 teachers, selected randomly from the population. The teachers did not use some of the educational technology in teaching Islamic Education. There were also some problems that could be attributed to the school. The researcher suggested conducting further studies in the light of other variables and on other subjects. The classroom should be equipped with various educational technology Teachers, should also be given financial incentives and training courses for them. (Published abstract)
