The paper explored the impact of the Internet use on academic achievement and social adjustment, depression, and communication skills among the students of Al-Qassim University. The population comprised all students using the Internet service at Al-Qassim University. The study sampled 595 Internet-using students at the University. The sample was purposely chosen as available. The academic cumulative average denoted students’ achievement. A localized version of Beck Depression List, adapted Social Adjustment Scale, and communication skills measure for university students were administered. The results indicated a degree slightly higher than the middle-class for students using the Internet for an average period of time in the degree of social adjustment and communication skills, while the two classes of social adaptation and communication skills were low among students with high use of the Internet. The results showed a low degree of depression for the medium Internet using students, while the degree of depression is high among the high Internet using students. There were significant differences in both the academic achievement and social adjustment due to the number of Internet use hours, gender and specialization in favor of medium use, male students, and scientific disciplines. There were significant differences in the degree of depression due to number of hours of Internet use, gender, and specialization in favor of high use, female students, and humanities disciplines. There were significant differences in the degree of communication skills due to number the Internet use hours in favor of medium use. The study offered some recommendations in the light of the findings. (Published abstract)
