The research aims to identify the importance of recreational rehabilitation programs for people with intellectual disabilities and their obstacles, and to reveal differences in the importance of recreational rehabilitation programs for people with intellectual disabilities and their obstacles from the perspective of specialists according to the following variables: gender, employer, and job. The sample included (160) specialists, including managers, supervisors, and teachers. A questionnaire was used (prepared by the researcher). The research followed a descriptive and analytical approach and reached a set of results. The study found that specialists perceive recreational rehabilitation programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities as highly important. However, their implementation faces significant challenge. Financial and administrative obstacles ranked first, followed by program-related obstacles, then social and cultural obstacles, and finally obstacles facing people with disabilities and their families. Differences in the importance of recreational rehabilitation programs were also evident according to the employer variable, in favor of the private sector, and according to the job variable, as teachers were more aware of the importance of recreational rehabilitation programs. In light of these results, several recommendations were presented to activate the implementation of these programs and benefit from them. (Published abstract)
