why do lebanese preschool teachers choose their profession and what keeps them encouraged? : a qualitative case study of eight teachers’ lives in tripoli

This qualitative case study sheds light on the importance of the notion of care in eight preschool teachers’ teaching lives. It takes place in a private preschool in Tripoli. The aim of this research is to discover the reasons that encourage teachers to enter the teaching profession, the reasons that keep them in this profession, and how teachers’ attitudes and classroom environments are influenced by the notion of care. Results show that the notion of care is found in all the eight teachers but to different degrees and varies from one teacher to another. (Author's abstract)
