The study aimed to identify the factors that negatively affected students) academic achievement at Jerash University from the Student’s and Staff’s Point of View. The population of the study consisted of 2930 students with a cumulative score less than 68%. The sample of the study was chosen randomly 177 students (males and females) from the faculties of arts, science, education, economy and law. Two questionnaires were used in this study. The first one has three domains: student, lecturer, and material. This instrument was distributed to students. The second one has the same domains, but it was distributed to staff. The reliability and validity of both questionnaires were tested and achieved. The results of the study showed that both questionnaires in all domains (student, staff and material) contributed in decreasing the academic achievement of the students. On the other hand there were statistical significant differences attributed to gender. Also there were significant differences between arts and science faculties concerning student domain. As well as, there were statistical significant differences between education faculty on the one hand and science and economy faculties on the other hand concerning staff domain. The study recommended improving the academic counseling at the university and shifting from traditional evaluation that depends on pencil and paper to modern and vital evaluation strategies.
