هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على أسباب إلتحاق الأبناء بالتعليم الخاص من وجهة نظر الآباء، حيث استخدمت لقياس هذه الأسباب استبانة مكونة من 50 فقرة، مقسمة على أربعة مجالات هي: البرنامج التعليمي للمدرسة، ومميزات المدرسة، ورسالة المدرسة وفلسفتها، واعتبارات خاصة لأولياء الأمور. قام الباحث بسحب عينة عشوائية بلغت عشر مدارس من قائمة المدارس البالغة 467 المتمركزة في محافظة إربد ومن ثم توزيع 50 استبانة على كل مدرسة من المدارس المسحوبة، حيث بلغت عينة الدراسة 464 من أولياء الأمور تم توزيع الاستبانات عليهم بشكل عشوائي. وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن أهم الأسباب التي دعت أولياء الأمور لإرسال أبنائهم للتعليم الخاص هي الاهتمام الكبير من قبل التعليم الخاص بتدريس اللغة الإنجليزية، وتوافر وسائل النقل الخاصة بالمدرسة، وقلة أعداد الطلبة داخل الشعب الصفية، إضافة إلى خلو التعليم الخاص من مظاهر العنف اللفظي والجسدي، واستجابة التعليم الخاص لمطالب ونصائح أولياء الأمور. وقد أوصت الدراسة بضرورة اهتمام التعليم الخاص بالأنشطة اللامنهجية، وتوفير الخدمات الإرشادية الطلابية، والاهتمام ببرامج التوعية والتثقيف. The purpose of the study was to examine reasons for enrolling students in private education at Irbid governorate from parents’ perceptions. The researcher used a 50 items questionnaire to measure (school’s educational curricula, school characteristics, school’s message and philosophy, and consideration for parents). The questionnaire was administrated to a random sample consisting of 10 private schools selected from a population totaling 467 private education at Irbid governorate. Each of the selected schools was administrated 50 questionnaires and the total parents’ random sample was 464 of parents. Results of the study indicated that the most important reasons for parents’ preference to enroll their children in private education were that private education uses English as the instructional language, private education provide transportation for students, classes in private education are not over crowded by students and they are free of physical and psychological aggression. Furthermore, parents of students in private education demands and advices are taken into consideration, the researcher recommended the need for more attention by private schools with extracurricular activities, providing students with counseling services and provide them with more educational programs.
