هدفت الدراسة التعرف على درجة توفر الكفايات اللازمة لإدارة عمليات التخطيط الاستراتيجي لدى القيادات الإدارية والأكاديمية بجامعة الأمير سطام بن عبد العزيز، وأبرز التحديات التي تواجههم. ولتحقيق أهداف الرسالة، استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي المسحي، واستخدم أداة الاستبانة لجمع البيانات اللازمة للدراسة. وكان مجتمع الدراسة مكونا من (335) وكانت عينة الدراسة (192) قردا مكونة من (عميد، وكيل، رئيس قسم، مدير إدارة). توصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج، أهمها: أن موافقة أفراد عينة الدراسة جاءت مرتفعة بدرجة (موافق) على توفر الكفايات اللازمة لإدارة عمليات التخطيط الاستراتيجي لدى القيادات الإدارية والأكاديمية بجامعة الأمير سطام بن عبد العزيز بمتوسط حسابي (4.17 من 5)، وأن أفراد عينة الدراسة موافقون بدرجة متوسطة على أن هناك تحديات تواجه القيادات الإدارية والأكاديمية، والمتمثلة في توافر الكفايات اللازمة لإدارة عمليات التخطيط الإستراتيجي في جامعة الأمير سطام بن عبد العزيز بمتوسط حسابي (3.51 من 5). وفي ضوء النتائج التي تم التوصل إليها، أوصت الدراسة ببعض التوصيات، منها: 1) الاهتمام بالتخطيط الاستراتيجي في الجامعات السعودية في جميع الفترات وعدم قصره بفترة الأزمات. 2) العمل على حل المشكلات اليومية التي تشغل القيادات الإدارية والأكاديمية بالجامعات السعودية. 3) العمل على دعم الإجراءات للتقليل من تأثيرات التغيرات المفاجئة للبيئة الداخلية والخارجية على عملية التخطيط الاستراتيجي. 4) العمل على توفير الحوافز المادية والمعنوية المرتبطة بالإنجاز، للقيادات الإدارية والأكاديمية بالجامعات السعودية. 5) حث القيادات الإدارية والأكاديمية بالجامعات السعودية على تفويض الأعمال الإدارية للعاملين. This study aimed to identify the degree of availability of competencies necessary to manage strategic planning processes among the administrative and academic leaders at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, and the most prominent challenges facing them and achieving the objectives of the mission. The researcher used the descriptive survey method and used the questionnaire tool to collect the necessary data for the study. The study population consisted of (335), and the study sample (192) monkeys, consisting of (dean, deputy, department head, department manager). The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: that the members of the study sample agreed to a large extent on the availability of the necessary competencies to manage the strategic planning processes among the administrative and academic leaders at Prince Sattam Bin University. Abdulaziz University with a mean (4.17 out of 5), and that the study sample agreed to a medium degree that there are challenges facing administrative and academic leaders represented in the availability of competencies necessary to manage strategic planning processes at the university. Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University with an average of (3.51 out of 5). The study reached a set of results: Paying attention to strategic planning in Saudi universities in all periods and not limiting it to crises. Work to solve the daily problems that occupy the administrative and academic leadership in Saudi universities. Work to support procedures to reduce the effects of sudden changes in the internal and external environment on the strategic planning process. Work to provide material and moral incentives related to achievement for the administrative and academic leaders in Saudi universities. Urging the administrative and academic leaders in Saudi universities to delegate administrative work to employees. (Published abstract)
