The study aimed to propose a battery of skill tests for the selection of secondary school handball teams among students in the secondary stage. The researcher employed the descriptive survey methodology as it was well-suited for the nature and objectives of the investigation. The study sample comprised 87 players who were registered in the school teams for the secondary stage (aged 15-17) and participated in the tournament organized by the school sports league of Touggourt province (2022-2023). The competition included a total of 07 teams. The study sample consisted of 50 players who were purposefully selected to represent four of the eight teams. A total of twelve skill tests were taken to assess skill variables, and the statistical techniques employed included mean, standard deviation, percentage, Pearson correlation coefficient, skewness coefficient, and exploratory factor analysis. Through factor analysis conducted on 12 skill variables, the researcher identified four factors that achieved the highest saturation and were accepted based on objective conditions. Therefore, the effective battery is one in which its units exhibit the highest saturation on each of its factors and represent the best skill tests that yield statistically significant differences compared to other skill tests. The selected tests were designed to assess the agreed criteria, namely the proposed battery is for the selection of school teams for secondary students aged 15-17, specifically focusing on handball skill tests: factor 1: jump shot accuracy test (shooting accuracy). Factor 2: overhead pass test for a 3m circle (passing from shoulder level) (passing and receiving). Factor 3: continuous bouncing test with controlled handball (dribbling).
