يهدف البحث التعرف على إدراك ما وراء المعرفة وعلاقته بمستوى الطموح الأكاديمي لطلبة الجامعة. اقتصر البحث على طلبة الكليات العلمية والإنسانية في جامعة الموصل للعام الدراسي (2012-2013)، تضمنت عينة البحث (744) طالبا وطالبة. ولتحقق هدف البحث أعد الباحث المقاييس التالية: 1) مقياس إدراك ما وراء المعرفة ومستوى الطموح الأكاديمي الذي تم بناءه من قبل الباحث، وتم التحقق من صدق المقاييس باعتماد (صدق المحتوى والصدق الظاهري وصدق البناء) وتم حساب القوة التميزية لفقرات المقاييس. أما الثبات فتم حسابه بطريقة ألفاكرونبخ، وإعادة الاختبار لكل المقاييس، وعولجت البيانات إحصائيا باستخدام الحقيبة الإحصائية للعلوم الاجتماعية (SPSS). وأظهرت النتائج، لا يوجد فرق ذو دلالة إحصائية في مستوى إدراك ما وراء المعرفة لدى أفراد عينة البحث تبعا لمتغير الجنس والتخصص الأكاديمي. The research aims to identify the level of metacognitive awareness and its relationship with the level of students’ academic ambition at the university level through answering the following questions. The research is limited to scientific and humanity college level students in the University of Mosul for the academic year (2012-2013), the sample includes (744) students distributed. To achieve the goal of the research the researcher has constructed the following measurements, the validity of the scales has been fulfilled with regards to (face validity, content validity, and construction validity). The discriminability of items has been calculated by using Alpha Kronbouk, and re- test of each scale. The data have been statistically analyzed using (SPSS) and the results showed: There is no statistically significant difference in the level of metacognitive awareness of the subjects concerning the sex and academic specialization.
