يستهدف البحث الكشف عن الاستهواء المضاد لدى عينة من طلبة جامعة تكريت في الكليات العلمية والإنسانية، المرحلة الثالثة حصرا. وقد بلغت عينة البحث (300) طالب وطالبة من كليات جامعة تكريت. قام الباحثان ببناء مقياس لقياس الاستهواء المضاد وهو جزء من المتطلبات الأساسية للبحث الحالي والمتكون من خمسة مجالات هي (1) الاستهواء الذهني. 2) الاستهواء العاطفي. 3) استهواء تأكيد الذات (الاستقلالية). 4) التفكير المنطقي. 5) الاقناع) إذ تكون المقياس بصورته الأولية من (52) فقرة، جرى التحقق من الصدق الظاهري للمقياس عن طريق عرض فقراته على مجموعة من المحكمين، وكذلك استخراج معامل التمييز ومعامل الارتباط لفقرات المقياس، وبذلك أصبح المقياس بصورته النهائية مكون من (48) فقرة وقد جرى حساب ثبات المقياس بطريقة إعادة الاختبار فبلغ (0,80)، قام الباحثان بتطبيق المقياس على عينة البحث الأساسية والمكونة من (300) طالب وطالبة من طلبة جامعة تكريت ومن الأقسام العلمية والإنسانية بواقع (150) طالبا و (150) طالبة، وبعد جمع استبيانات الدراسة عولجت البيانات إحصائيا باستعمال الاختبار التائي ومعامل ارتباط بيرسون. توصل الباحثان إلى النتائج التالية: 1) ارتفاع مستوى الاستهواء المضاد لدى طلبة الجامعة. 2) توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات أفراد العينة تبعا لمتغير الجنس ولصالح الذكور. 3) توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات أفراد العينة تبعا لمتغير التخصص ولصالح التخصص العلمي. ومن خلال النتائج التي توصل إليها الباحثان فقد قدما عددا من التوصيات والمقترحات.
