أجري هذا البحث على عينة من طلبة المدارس الحكومية والأهلية بهدف التعرف على مستوى الثقة بالنفس لدى الطلاب، والتعرف على طبيعة الفروق في مستوى الثقة بالنفس لديهم. تبعا لمتغير نوع المدرسة (حكومية - أهلية). أعدت الباحثة مقياسا مكونا من (36) فقرة لقياس خاصية الثقة بالنفس، وقامت بتطبيقه على عينة البحث المكونة من (200) طالب نصفهم من المدارس الحكومية والنصف الآخر من المدارس الأهلية. أظهرت النتائج أن طلاب المرحلة الإعدادية يتمتعون بمستوى متوسط في الثقة بالنفس، حيث بلغت نسبتهم (55%) من أفراد العينة. بينما حصل (29%) من أفراد العينة على مستوى عال في الثقة بالنفس. وفيما حصلت نسبة (16%) من هؤلاء الطلاب على مستوى ثقة منخفض. كذلك جاء في نتائج البحث أن طلاب المدارس الحكومية أكثر ثقة بأنفسهم من طلاب المدارس الأهلية. فسرت هذه النتائج لكل هدف من أهداف البحث. This research was conducted on a sample of public and private school students in order to identify the level of self-confidence among them, and to identify the nature of differences in their level of self-confidence. According to the school type variable (public - private), the researcher has prepared a scale consisting of (36) items to measure the self-confidence characteristic, and applied it to the research sample consisting of (200) students, half of them from public schools and the other half from private schools. The results have shown that middle school students have an average level of self-confidence, as their percentage reached (55%) of the respondents. While (29%) of the respondents obtained a high level of self-confidence, (16%) of these students obtained a low level of confidence. The results of the research also have shown that public school students are more self-confident than private school students. These results were interpreted for each of the research objectives.
