هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على دور مديري المدارس الابتدائية في التنمية المهنية للمعلمين في شرقي القدس، واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، وتم اختيار عينة بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطة بلغ عددها (200) معلم ومعلمة، وتم إعداد استبانة مكونة من (23) فقرة موزعة على ثلاثة مجالات هي الممارسات الصفية، والاتصال والتواصل، والتنمية المهنية للمعلمين. وتوصلت النتائج إلى أن دور مديري المدارس الابتدائية في التنمية المهنية للمعلمين في شرقي القدس جاء بدرجة متوسطة وبوزن نسبي (65.3%)، وجاءت جميع المجالات بدرجة متوسطة أيضاً، وجاء مجال الاتصال والتواصل في المرتبة الأولى بوزن نسبي (66.9%)، يليه مجال الممارسات الصفية بوزن نسبي (66.0%)، وأخيراً التنمية المهنية للمعلمين بوزن نسبي (63.3%)، كما توصلت النتائج إلى عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين استجابات أفراد عينة الدراسة حول دور مديري المدارس الابتدائية في التنمية المهنية للمعلمين في شرقي القدس تعزى لمتغيرات الجنس والمؤهل العلمي وسنوات الخبرة. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة قيام مديري المدارس بتطوير مهارات المعلمين التدريسية وممارساتهم الصفية من خلال الزيارات الصفية وعقد جلسات للمعلم مع المدير، وأن يطلع المدير على ما هو جديد بكل تخصص في مدرسته. The study aimed to identify the role of primary school principals in the professional development of teachers in East Jerusalem. The study used the descriptive analytical method, and a simple random sample of (200) male and female teachers was selected. A questionnaire consisting of (23) items was prepared, distributed across three areas: classroom practices, communication, and professional development of teachers. The results showed that the role of primary school principals in the professional development of teachers in East Jerusalem was moderate with a relative weight of (65.3%). All areas were also moderate, with the area of communication coming in first place with a relative weight of (66.9%), followed by the area of classroom practices with a relative weight of (66.0%), and finally the professional development of teachers with a relative weight of (63.3%). The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the responses of the study sample regarding the role of primary school principals in the professional development of teachers in East Jerusalem, attributable to the variables of gender, academic qualification, and years of experience. The study recommended that school principals develop teachers' teaching skills and classroom practices through classroom visits and teacher principal meetings, and that principals stay informed about the latest developments in each subject area within their schools.
