استهدف البحث إعداد تصور مقترح لما يجب أن تكون عليه مناهج الدراسات الاجتماعية بالمرحلة المتوسطة، بعناصرها المتمثلة في: (الأهداف، المحتوى، الأنشطة، أساليب التقويم)، في ضوء التنمية المستدامة. تم إعداد قائمة بأبعاد التنمية المستدامة التي ينبغي توافرها في مناهج الدراسات الاجتماعية بالمرحلة الإعدادية المهنية، وإعداد أداة تحليل محتوى مناهج الدراسات الاجتماعية بالمرحلة المتوسطة بصفوفها الأربعة في ضوء أبعاد التنمية المستدامة، ثم ترجمة الأبعاد إلى مجموعة من المؤشرات التي تعتبر أساسا يمكن خلالها قياس مدى توافر الأبعاد في مناهج الدراسات الاجتماعية بالمرحلة الإعدادية المهنية، وأخيرا التوصل إلى التصور المقترح لمناهج الدراسات الاجتماعية الحالية بالمرحلة الإعدادية المهنية، ك. أسفرت النتائج عن أن مناهج الدراسات الاجتماعية بالمرحلة الإعدادية المهنية لا تلبي أبعاد التنمية المستدامة. The aim of this research is to prepare a proposed conception of what the social studies curricula should be in the middle school, with its elements represented in: (objectives, content, activities, evaluation methods), in the light of sustainable development; To achieve this goal, a list of the dimensions of sustainable development that should be available in the social studies curricula of the preparatory professional stage was prepared, and a tool was prepared for analyzing the content of the social studies curricula in the middle stage with its four grades in the light of the dimensions of sustainable development, and then translating the dimensions into a set of indicators that are considered a basis through which it can be measured. The availability of dimensions in the social studies curricula in the professional preparatory stage, and finally reaching the proposed vision for the current social studies curricula in the professional preparatory stage, the results of the current research resulted in the following: Social studies curricula in the preparatory professional stage do not meet the dimensions of sustainable development.
