هدفت الدراسة التعرف على الاحتياجات المعرفية لأسر الطلبة ذوي الاعاقة الفكرية في المرحلة المتوسطة من وجهة نظرهم في مدينة مكة المكرمة. اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي. وللإجابة على أسئلة الدراسة تم عمل استبانة تضمنت الصورة النهائية لها (26) عبارة، مقسمة على ثلاثة أبعاد، وتم التأكد من صدق وثبات الأداة، وقد طبقت الصورة النهائية للاستبانة على عينة و بلغت (89) من أولياء أمور الطلبة ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية في المرحلة المتوسطة بمدينة مكة المكرمة وقد أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى أن مستوى الاحتياجات المعرفية المهمة لأسر الطلبة ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية في المرحلة المتوسطة مرتفع من وجهة نظر هذه الأسر نتيجة انتشار الاتجاهات السلبية والمفاهيم الخاطئة في المجتمع حول ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة الإحصائية (0,05 = α) في جميع الأبعاد والدرجة الكلية للمقياس تبعا لمتغير الجنس، وعدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة الإحصائية (0,05 = α) في جميع الأبعاد والدرجة الكلية للمقياس تبعا لمتغير المؤهل العلمي. وأوصت الدراسة ضرورة توفير البرامج الإرشادية والدورات التدريبية لأسر ذوي الإعاقة الفكرية؛ لتوعيتهم وتعريفهم بالمعلومات الخاصة بالإعاقة الفكرية. The cognitive needs of families of students with intellectual disabilities in the intermediate stage from their point of view in the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The study relied on the descriptive analytical method. A questionnaire was made, in order to answer the questions of the study, the final image of which included (26) phrases, divided into three dimensions, and the validity and reliability of its tool were verified. The final image of the questionnaire was applied to a sample of (89) parents of students with mental retardation in the intermediate stage in the city of Makkah, the results of the study indicated that the level of important cognitive needs of families of students with mental retardation in the intermediate stage is high from the point of view of these families as a result of the spread of negative orientations and misconceptions in society about persons with mental retardation, and there were no statistically significant differences at the level of statistical significance(a = 0.05) in all dimensions and the total degree of the scale depending on the gender variable and on the educational qualification variable. The study recommended the necessity of providing counseling programs and training courses for families of people with mental retardation; to educate them and familiarize them with information about mental retardation.
