هدف البحث إلى دراسة العلاقة بين الإدمان على الإنترنت، والقلق المعمم والإكتئاب من جهة، ودراسة علاقته بمتغيرات معينة مثل الجنس، والكلية، والإختصاص الدقيق لدى طلاب الجامعة اللبنانية من جهة أخرى تألفت العينة من (504) طالبا لبنانيا في كليتي الآداب والعلوم (تحديدا في الفروع الأولى من الجامعة اللبنانية) في السنة الجامعية الثانية، تراوحت أعمارهم ما بين (18 و20) سنة. توصلت النتائج إلى ارتفاع معدلات الإدمان على الإنترنت لدى طلاب كلية الآداب مقارنة مع طلاب كلية العلوم، كما أشارت النتائج إلى وجود ارتباط ذي دلالة إحصائية بين الإدمان على الإنترنت والقلق، وإلى وجود ارتباط ذي دلالة إحصائية بين الإدمان على الإنترنت والإكتئاب، كما دلت النتائج على وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين الذكور والإناث في الإدمان على الإنترنت، لصالح الإناث، كما سجلت أيضا فروق دالة إحصائيا في إدمان الطلاب على الإنترنت تبعا لمتغير الاختصاص الدقيق فقط في كلية العلوم. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between internet addiction, generalized anxiety disorder and depression among Lebanese University students in light of some variables such as gender, university and specialization. The sample consisted of (504) Lebanese university students (males and females) aged between18-20 years, who were registered in the Lebanese university (253) of them were registered in Faculty of Literature and Human Sciences and the other (251) students were registered in Faculty of Sciences. Results showed higher levels of internet addiction among students of Human Science Faculty, more than students of the Science Faculty. Results also showed positive significant correlation between internet addiction and anxiety and positive significant correlation between internet addiction and depression. On the other hand, it showed significant statistical differences between males and females in internet addiction in such away that females were more addicted on internet than males. Results also showed significant differences in internet addiction among students due to specific major only in the Faculty of Science. (Published abstract)
