This study aimed to identify the personality types of Al-Quds University students and their level of depression, in addition to examine the relationship between personality types and depression, as well as to identify the differences in the personality types and depression averages according to the variables of (specialization, gender, housing, educational level, and the cumulative rate. To achieve the objectives of this study, this study was conducted on a random stratified sample of (340) students of both genders. The researcher used the “Eysenck " test for the Adult format character EPQ which was prepared and inflective by Ahmed Abdel Khalek (1991) and adjusted Beke list of depression which is inflective by Ahmed Abdel Khaliq (1996). The two instruments were verified by presenting them to a number of arbitrators. The stability of the study tools was calculated in its different dimensions in a manner of internal consistency method by using Kronbach Alpha equation and it turned out that both instruments have been shown to have a high degree of stability. The data were statistically processed by calculating arithmetic averages, standard deviations, and ttest. And one-way ANOVA analysis. LSD test and Pearson Correlation. The results showed: The arithmetic mean of the psychic type appeared with low degree, while other types (extinctions, neuroticism, and lying) appeared with high degree. And The level of depression among the students of Al-Quds University came slightly .and There is a positive relationship between the types of (Psychoticism and Psychosis) and the level of depression, and a negative relationship between the type of extinction and depression. While there was no relationship between lying and depression type. And there were no differences in the average types of personality among the students of Al-Quds University due to the variable of specialization and the educational level, while there were differences due to the gender variable on the two types of psychosis and extraversion in favor of males and the lying type in favor of females. The existence of differences according to the place of residence for the benefit of the village inhabitants in the types of psychosis and neuroticism in favor of (city and camp). There are differences according to the cumulative average rate on the type of (neuroticism) for the benefit of students whose cumulative rates (less than 70%). While there were no differences on the rest of the other types. And there were no differences in the level of depression among the students of Al-Quds University due to the variable of specialization, gender, educational level and cumulative average, while differences were found according to the variable of residence for the benefit of students from the city. In light of these results, the researcher came out with a set of recommendations which represented in calling for the preparation of preventive, counseling and therapeutic programs that focus on experiences that would decrease depression among students and to work for preventing or treating them, and development the type of extraversion among the students which is one of the active types in reducing levels of depression, Psychoticism, Neuroticism and lying.
