The aim of the research is to know the reality of the role played by the basic school in the Republic of Yemen in preserving the personal identity of students, and to find out whether there are significant differences due to the variable of gender and job. The researcher used the descriptive approach, using the questionnaire answered by (181) of those working in basic schools (School principal, mentor, teacher). The results revealed that the school played a moderate role in preserving personal identity in the curriculum axis and the school management axis, while it played a major role through the teacher axis. The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences attributed to the gender variable on the axis. The teacher was in favor of males, and on the curriculum axis in favor of females, as well as the presence of differences due to the job variable on the teacher axis and the curriculum axis in favor of the teacher. The research came up with a set of recommendations, including that attention be paid to critical education for basic stage students, whether through the study curricula or through the teacher and curricular and extracurricular activities, in addition to the necessity of creating a new course under the name of media education or education in the digital age, in including in the rest of the curricula information about the digital era social media, and the Internet, and the pros and cons of these means.
