هدف هذا البحث للكشف عن جودة النصوص العلمية في كتاب العلوم للصف الرابع الأساسي بفلسطين، وبيان مستوى معرفة المعلمين بخصائص النص العلمي الجيد، وقياس درجة مقروئية نصوص كتاب العلوم للصف الرابع الأساسي. واستخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي، وقام الباحث ببناء ثلاث أدوات بحثية هي: قائمة بخصائص النص العلمي الجيد، واختبار خصائص النص الجيد لمعلمي علوم الصف الرابع الأساسي، واختيا مقروئية نصوص كتاب العلوم لتلاميذ الصف الرابع الأساسي، وتم اختيار عينة عشوائية من معلمي ومعلمات مبحث العلوم للصف الرابع الأساسي قوامها 40 معلماً و معلمة، كما تم اختيار عينة عشوائية عنقودية من تلاميذ الصف الرابع الأساسي قوامها 680 طالباً وطالبة. وخلص إلى قائمة بخصائص النص الجيد تكونت من سبعين خاصية، توزعت على خمسة مجالات، وأظهر البحث أن مستوى معرفة معلمي العلوم بتلك الخصائص بلغ 61%، كما أظهر أن 45.3% من تلاميذ الصف الرابع الأساسي تقع في المستوى الإحباطي من مستويات مقروئية نصوص كتاب العلوم. The aim of this research is to reveal the quality of science textbooks for 4th graders in Palestine, determine teachers’ level of knowledge regarding the characteristics of good scientific texts, and measure the degree of readability of scientific texts. The researcher applied a descriptive approach using three instruments: listing the characteristics of good scientific texts, testing the characteristics good texts among science teachers, and testing the readability of the science textbooks for the 4th grade. A random sample of 40 science teachers was chosen, along with a random sample of 680 4th graders, both male and female. The researcher concludes by identifying and listing 70 good characteristics of science textbooks distributed across five domains and determining the science teachers’ level of knowledge as 61%. He further indicates that 45.3% of pupils in the 4th grade class demonstrated frustration with the level of readability of the scientific texts. (Published abstract)
