هدفت الدّراسة إلى الكشف عن مستوى التعاطف والتنظيم الانفعالي لدى المراهقين المقيمين في دور الرعاية في عمان، ومعرفة العلاقة بين التعاطف والتّنظيم الانفعاليّ، والفروق في العلاقة بينهما تبعًا لمتغير الجنس، وقد تكونت عيّنة الدّراسة من (121) مراهقًا بواقع (96 ذكرًا و 25 إنثى) من المقيمين في دور الرعاية في عمان والذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين(11- 18) سنة، ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم استخدام مقياس التفاعل بين الأشخاص لقياس التعاطف لديفيس (Davis, 1980)، ومقياس تنظيم الانفعالات لجروس وجون (2003 ,Gross & John) بعد ترجمتهما، وأظهرت النّتائج أنّ مستوى التعاطف والتنظيم الانفعالي جاءا بمستوى "متوسّط"، وأشارت النتائج أن هناك علاقة ارتباطية طردية ذات دلالة إحصائية بين جميع مجالات التعاطف وبين مجالي التنظيم الانفعالي، باستثناء مجال الضيق الشخصي الذي لم يرتبط بمجالي التنظيم الانفعالي، وأظهرت النتائج وجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا في العلاقة بين التعاطف بُعد(الضيق الشخصي( والتنظيم الانفعالي تبعًا لمتغير الجنس لصالح الإناث، وأوصت الدّراسة بإجراء دراسات حول التنظيم الانفعالي والتعاطف في مراحل عمرية مختلفة وفي ضوء متغيرات تصنيفية أخرى. The study aimed to reveal empathy and its role in the emotional regulation level for the adolescents residing in the care homes in Amman, and to recognize the connection between empathy and emotional regulation; in addition to the differences based on the gender. The study sample consisted of (121) adolescents (96 males and 25 females) whose residing in the care homes in Amman aged between (11-18) years. In order to achieve the aims of the study, the Interpersonal Reactivity Index for (Davis, 1980) was used to rate empathy and (Gross & John, 2003 (was used to rate the emotional regulation after translating them. The results showed that empathy and emotional regulation were in a medium level. In addition, it showed that there was a direct correlation with statistical significance between all empathy domains and the two domains of emotional regulation except for the personal distress which did not connect to the two domains of emotional regulation. The results showed that there were statistical significance differences in the connection between the empathy (personal distress) and emotional regulation based on the gender in favor of female. The study recommended to conduct studies about emotional regulation and empathy for different ages considering the other classification changes. (Published abstract)
