الأزمات الأخيرة في لبنان بما في ذلك انتفاضة عام 2019، وانفجار مرفأ بيروت عام 2020، والانهيار المالي والاقتصادي المستمر، أثّرت بعمق في توجهات البحث في العلوم الاجتماعية. تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل أثر هذه الأحداث على أولويات البحث في الجامعة اللبنانية (LU)، والجامعة الأميركية في بيروت (AUB)، والجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية (LAU). من خلال تحليل 203 مقالات نُشرت بين عامي 2019 و2023، تقوم الدراسة بتصنيف الأعمال وفق اللغة، والموضوع، والانتماء المؤسسي، كما تبحث في الملامح الجندرية والمؤسسية للباحثين المساهمين فيها. تُظهر النتائج أن الجامعة اللبنانية تميل إلى النشر باللغة العربية بهدف الوصول إلى جمهور محلي، في حين تتوجه كل من الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت والجامعة اللبنانية الأميركية إلى جمهور دولي عبر النشر باللغة الإنكليزية. كما تبرز الدراسة دور الظروف المؤسسية، وهياكل التمويل، والانتماءات الأكاديمية في تحديد اختيارات الباحثين لموضوعات أبحاثهم. The recent crises in Lebanon — including the 2019 uprising, the 2020 Beirut port explosion, and the ongoing financial and economic collapse — have deeply influenced research orientations in the social sciences. This study analyzes the impact of these events on research priorities at the Lebanese University (LU), the American University of Beirut (AUB), and the Lebanese American University (LAU). Through an examination of 203 articles published between 2019 and 2023, the study classifies the works according to language, theme, and institutional affiliation, while also exploring the gender and institutional profiles of the contributing researchers. The findings reveal that the Lebanese University favors publishing in Arabic to reach a local audience, whereas AUB and LAU target an international readership by publishing in English. The study also highlights the role of institutional conditions, funding structures, and academic affiliations in shaping researchers’ choices of research topics. (Published abstract)
