هدفت الدراسة إلى تعرف معتقدات معلمي الدراسات الاجتماعية حول التربية المواطنية في مدارس التعليم الأساسي بسلطنة عمان وعلاقتها ببعض المتغيرات. تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي، والاستعانة بمقياس المعتقدات الذي تكون من خمسة أبعاد (التربية المواطنية، الحقوق والواجبات، الهوية الوطنية، الشراكة المجتمعية، المواطنية العالمية والرقمية)، وبعد التحقق من الصدق والثبات تم تطبيق المقياس على عينة عشوائية بلغت (250) معلما ومعلمة من مدارس التعليم الأساسي بسلطنة عمان. توصلت الدراسة إلى امتلاك معلمي الدراسات الاجتماعية لاتجاهات إيجابية نحو التربية المواطنية حيث جاءت بمستوى موافق بشدة إذ بلغ المتوسط الحسابي (4.25). كما كشفت النتائج عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى الدلالة (α=0.05) في مستوى معتقدات معلمي الدراسات الاجتماعية بالمواطنية تعزى لمتغير الجنس. بينما هناك فروق ذات دلالة تعزى لمتغير المؤهل العلمي لصالح الدراسات العليا. توصي الدراسة بتوجيه معلمي الدارسات الاجتماعية إلى توظيف التربية المواطنية في الممارسات التدريسية، والاهتمام بتدريب المعلمين على التربية المواطنية. The study aimed to identify the beliefs of social studies’ teachers about citizenship education in basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman and its relationship to some variables. The descriptive approach was used, and the tool of the study is beliefs scale, which consists of five dimensions (citizenship education, rights and duties, national identity, community partnership, global and digital citizenship), after verifying the validity and reliability of this scale, it was applied to a random sample of (250) teachers (male and female) from basic education schools in the Sultanate of Oman. The study achieved a set of results, the most important are: the social studies teachers have positive attitudes towards citizenship education which is represented by strongly agree level with general arithmetic mean of (4.25). The results also revealed that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (a = 0.05) in social studies teachers' beliefs about citizenship due to the gender variable. While there were statistically significant differences at the variable of educational qualification in favor of post graduate studies’. The study recommends directing teachers of social studies to employ citizenship education in teaching practices and pay attention to training teachers on citizenship education. (Published abstract)
