هدفت الدراسة التعرف إلى واقع استخدام طلبة المرحلة الأساسية العليا لمواقع التواصل الاجتماعي على الانترنت، وطبقت الدراسة على طلبة مدارس محافظة طولكرم-فلسطين والبالغ عددهم (11759) طالبا وطالبة، واستخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي نظرا لمناسبته لأغراض الدراسة، وتم اختيار عينة الدراسة بالطريقة العنقودية من (27) مدرسة والبالغ عدد أفرادها (879) طالبا وطالبة، وأعد الباحث استبانة مكونة من (30) فقرة، تم التأكد من صدقها وثباتها، ولمعالجة البيانات؛ استخدم الباحث برنامج الرزم الاحصائية (SPSS) من خلال استخدام المعالجات الإحصائية، الآتية: النسب المئوية والمتوسطات الحسابية، تحليل التباين الأحادي، معامل ارتباط كرونباخ ألفا، وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أهم النتائج الآتية: وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا في استخدام طلبة المرحلة الأساسية العليا لمواقع التواصل الاجتماعي تعزى لمتغيري الجنس والصف الدراسي ولصالح الذكور والصف الثامن الأساسي على التوالي. كما أظهرت عدم وجود فروق تبعا لمتغيرات: مكان السكن، ومستوى تعليم الأب، ومستوى تعليم الأم، وطريقة الدخول الى مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي. وقد أوصت الدراسة بضرورة إجراء دراسات تجريبية بهدف توفير برامج توعوية للطلبة لشغل وقت فراغهم وتوجيههم وإرشادهم بالطريقة الامنة والسليمة لاستخدام مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي. This study aimed to identify awareness of the high elementary school student' use of the social networking sites on the Internet. The study was applied on the students of Tulkarm-Palestine schools (11759) students. The researcher used the analytical descriptive method because of its suitability for the purposes of the study. The sample of the study was chosen in the cluster method from 27 schools with 879 students. The researcher prepared a questionnaire consisting of (30) verifiable items. Statistical packages (SPSS) were used for data processing through the use of the following statistical processors: Percentages and arithmetic averages, single-variance analysis, alpha-Cronbach correlation coefficient. The study found the following important results: 1) There were statistically significant differences in the use of the elementary students of the social networking sites due to the sex variables and the grade for the benefit of males and the eighth grade, respectively. 2) There were also no differences according to the variables: place of residence, level of the father's education, level of mother's education, and access to social networking sites. The study recommended that experimental studies should be carried out in order to provide awareness programs for students to fill their leisure time and guide them in the safe way to use social networking sites.
