This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of a rational emotional behavioral counseling program in reducing anxiety among second-grade high school female students and their mothers. A quasi-experimental design was employed to collect and analyze data from the study sample, which included 33 students and 32 mothers in the control group, and 34 students and 30 mothers in the experimental group. The validity and reliability of the study's measures were verified, and group equivalence was tested before implementing the proposed program. The study's results revealed a high level of anxiety among second-grade high school female students and their mothers in the southern Jordan Valley. Furthermore, the results indicated statistically significant differences in anxiety levels on the dimensional scale after implementing the program in favor of the experimental group. The findings demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed counseling program through follow-up test results, which showed a continued decrease in anxiety levels among the students and their mothers three weeks after the program's completion.
