The study aims to determine the level of family communication patterns, cognitive dispersion, and future anxiety; to reveal the relationship between them, it also seeks to explain the difference between family communication patterns in cognitive dispersion and future anxiety among mothers of primary school students considering the Corona pandemic. The sample consisted of (300) mothers of primary school students at schools of the Directorate of Education for the First Zarqa District in Zarqa Governorate. To achieve the study goals, a family communication patterns scale, a cognitive dispersion scale, and a future anxiety scale were developed and applied after verifying the validity and reliability of these scales. The results related to the family communication patterns show that the verbal communication dimension, the non-verbal communication dimension, and the ideal dimension were at a high level. The results also indicated that the level of cognitive dispersion and the level of future anxiety were moderate. The results indicate that there is a statistically significant inverse correlation between family communication patterns and cognitive dispersal, as well as between family communication patterns and future anxiety, with the exception of the blamed dimension, which did not show a relationship between it and future anxiety. The results showed that the two patterns of verbal and idealistic communication explain (78.2%) of the changes in cognitive dispersal, and the idealistic pattern explains (66.7%) of the changes in future anxiety. The study concludes with many recommendations, the most significant is to make qualitative studies to find out the reasons behind the cognitive dispersal and future anxiety. (Published abstract)
