هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على العلاقة بين وعي الوالدين ببعض حقوق الطفل والخصائص النمائية لدى أطفالهما. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم استخدام المنهج الوصفي المقارن على عينة قوامها (116) طفل أعمارهم ما بين (3- 8 سنوات)، وأيضًا أمهات أو آباء هؤلاء الأطفال في مدينة الرياض بالمملكة العربية السعودية. وتم تطبيق مقياس وعي الوالدين بحقوق الطفل (إعداد الباحثة)، وبطارية اختبارات لبعض جوانب النمو للأطفال (إعداد قناوي ومحمد)، وذلك بعد التأكد من الخصائص السيكومترية لهما. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى وجود علاقة ارتباطية طردية ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.01) بين وعي الوالدين ببعض حقوق الطفل والخصائص النمائية لدى أطفالهما، كما أظهرت النتائج وجود فروقًا دالة إحصائيًا بين متوسطات درجات أطفال الوالدين (الأكثر وعيًا والأقل وعيًا) في الخصائص النمائية لأطفالهما لصالح الوالدين الأكثر وعيًا. كما أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود فروقًا دالة احصائيًا بين متوسطي درجات كل من الآباء والأمهات في الوعي بحقوق الطفل لصالح الأمهات، وعدم وجود فروق في الوعي بحقوق الطفل تعزى لاختلاف جنس الطفل، وكذلك عدم وجود فروق في الوعي بحقوق الطفل تعزى لاختلاف عمر الوالدين. كما أظهرت النتائج عدم وجود فروق في الوعي بحقوق الطفل تعزى لاختلاف المستوى التعليمي للوالدين. The study aimed to identify the relationship between parental awareness of certain children's rights and the growth requirement of their children in light of some variables. To achieve the purposes of the study, the descriptive approach was used on a sample of (116) children between the ages of 3 and 8, as well as the mothers or fathers of these children in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The child's awareness measure (prepared by the researcher) and a battery testing of some aspects of children's development (prepared by Kanawi and Muhammad) were applied after confirming their psychometric characteristics. The study found a statistically significant correlation at the level of (0.01) between parental awareness of certain children's rights and growth requirement in their children, and the results also showed statistically significant differences between the means of scores of parents (who have the most conscious and the least conscious parents) in the growth requirement of their children in favor of parents who have the most conscious. In addition, there is statistically significant difference between the means of scores of both fathers and mothers in their awareness of children’s rights in favor of mothers. There is no statistically significant difference in awareness of the children’s rights due to the gender of the child, as well as there is no statistically significant difference in awareness of the children’s rights due to the age of the parents. Moreover, there is no statistically significant difference in awareness of children's rights due to parents' educational level. (Published abstract)
