يركز هذا البحث على عنصر هام في التعليم الجامعي وركن رئيسي من مكونات مخرجاته، ألا وهو الإرشاد الأكاديمي، وفي هذا الإطار فإن البحث يهدف إلى قياس مدى رضا طلاب وطالبات جامعة شقراء والقائمين على الإرشاد الأكاديمي وممارساته بجامعة شقراء والذي ينعكس بطبيعة الحال على تحسن في مخرجات العملية التعليمية ويقوم البحث على فرضية محورية تنص على: "وجود فجوة بين النظرية والتطبيق في ممارسة فعاليات وأنشطة الإرشاد الأكاديمي" ولإثبات مصداقية هذه الفرضية فقد تم تطبيق استبانتين، الاستبانة الأولى طبقت على عينة عشوائية مكونة من (1130) طالب وطالبة تمثل كليات الجامعة وتخصصاتها المختلفة، أما الاستبانة الثانية فتستهدف شريحة من أعضاء هيئة التدريس القائمين على التنسيق والإشراف على أنشطة وفعاليات الإرشاد الأكاديمي بكليات جامعة شقراء وتتكون من(14) مشرف ومشرفة على الإرشاد الأكاديمي بكليات جامعة شقراء. والعينتان تمثلان الجانب النظري والتطبيقي للبحث، ولقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من الاستنتاجات كان أهمها اتفاق آراء العينتان على وجود فجوة بين النظرية والتطبيق، كما تبين أيضا أن هناك اختلاف في رؤى فئتي العينة حول جودة ممارسات الإرشاد الأكاديمي وفعالية تطبيقه بكليات جامعة شقراء. This research focuses on an important element in university education, that of academic advising. In this respect, the research seeks to measure the success of academic advising in improving the outcomes of the educational activities. The research is based upon a core premise which says that" there is a gap between the theories of academic advising and its practices and activities." The researcher endeavors to find out the points of weakness and strength in these practices. Two questionnaires are applied in this respect. The first consists of ten statements and applied on a random sample of 130 male, and female of the students of Shaqra University. The second questionnaire is applied on 14 of the coordinators of academic advising of the different colleges of Shaqra University. The two samples represent both the theoretical and the practical sides of the study. The first represents the receivers of the service and how they view its practices. The second represents those who supervise the academic advising and their vision of its philosophy and practices. Responses of both sides are collected and statistically analyzed. Results of the study show that both sides agree that there is a gab between theory and practice. There is a difference between the two groups concerning the quality of the practices of academic advising and the validity of its applications. (Published abstract)
