This research aimed at revealing impact of the semiotic strategy on teaching the reading texts and developing the reading comprehension and some of the contemplating skills among the primary third grade students in Al-Salt Directorate of Education, the semiexperimental method was selected, and two branches were selected from the third basic grade students from two males and females schools in Al-Salt city, their number (30) students in the experimental group and (30) student in the control group, then applying the strategy to the experimental group, and teaching the control group by the normal method, then applying the reading comprehension test and the contemplative thinking test. After conducting the statistical analysis process, the study reached the presence of difference with statistical significance at significance level (α<0.05) between means of the degrees of the two groups individuals the experimental and the control on the post-test in developing the reading comprehension attributes to the method/ sematic/ (normal strategy) and the gender and the interaction between them, and the presence of a difference with statistical significance at significance level (α<0.05) between the mean degrees of the two experimental groups, and control individuals on the post-test in developing the contemplative thinking skill attributes to the method (normal semiotic strategy), and gender and interaction between them. The study recommended the necessity for conducting more studies linking between the semiotic strategy and other variables. (Published abstract)
