The effect of using the guided free reading strategy on improving the creative thinking skills of third-grade intermediate students in Saudi Arabia [Article]
This study aimed to identify the effect of using the guided free reading strategy in improving the creative thinking skills of third-grade intermediate students in Saudi Arabia. The study used the quasi-experimental approach, and the researcher intentionally selected one of the middle schools, and then two divisions of the third intermediate grade students in the city of Hail, Saudi Arabia were randomly selected, and their number was (33) students, they were divided into two groups randomly, the control group consisted of (16) students, and an experimental group of (17) students. For the purposes of the study, a set of readings was selected by the researcher; It consists of stories and articles, thoughts from magazines and newspapers, and selections from some suitable equivalent courses from curricula and courses from neighboring countries. The study used a creative thinking test that dealt with skills (fluency, flexibility, originality, and expansion) and the results showed a statistically significant effect in the post-measurement of using the directed free reading strategy in improving creative thinking skills for third-grade intermediate students in Saudi Arabia in skills (fluency, flexibility, originality, expansion).
