The purpose of this study was to determine the level of perfectionism and academic adaptation among gifted students in king Abdullah II schools of excellence in Amman city, as well as the relationship between perfectionism and academic adaptation of those students. In addition, exploring the effect of gender and class variables on the level of perfectionism and academic adaptation among the study sample, the researcher used the descriptive correlation method. The sample of the study consisted of (477) male and female students from king Abdullah II schools of excellence in Amman city, as the males were (144) students and the females were (333) students. The perfectionism scale of (Frost, 1990) translated by (Al-Taj, Huwaidi and Khzaled, 2017) and academic adaptation scale developed by the researcher were used. The findings of the study showed that there is an average level of perfectionism and a high level of academic adaptation among the study sample. There is an effect for student's gender in favor of males and for class variables in favor of seventh grade in the level of perfectionism. Meanwhile, there were no differences in student's gender on the level of academic adaptation, while the difference was in class variable in favor of the seventh grade in the academic adaptation. Further, there is an inverse relationship between perfectionism and academic adaptation. (Published abstract)
