سعت الدراسة الحالية لمعرفة تصورات طلاب جامعة الملك فيصل نحو استخدام الشبكات الاجتماعية في التعلم والبحث العلمي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (84) طالب وطالبة من مرحلة البكالوريوس في تخصص (الطب، وعلوم الحاسب وتقنية المعلومات) بجامعة الملك فيصل بمحافظة الأحساء، واستخدمتْ الدراسة المنهج الوصفي، وأُعدِتْ استبانة، تم تطبيقها - بعد تحكيمها - بتوزيعها يدويًّا، وتمت المعالجة الإحصائية لأداة الدراسة. توصلت الدراسة إلى أن أفراد عينة الدراسة تستخدم الشبكات الاجتماعية في التعلم والبحث العلمي في الغالب، واتفق أفراد العينة على أن شبكة يوتيوب "You tube" أكثر الشبكات الاجتماعية تفضيلاً للحصول على المعلومات من أجل التعلم، ولأغراض البحث العلمي، وبينما جاءت شبكة فيس بوك "Face book" في المرتبة الثانية، وأشارت النتائج إلى أنه لا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05) حول تصورات طلاب جامعة الملك فيصل تبعاً لمتغير الجنس، وإلى أنه توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية عند مستوى (0.05) حول تصورات طلاب جامعة الملك فيصل نحو استخدامهم للشبكات الاجتماعية في التعلم تبعًا لمتغير التخصص الدراسي لصالح تخصص (الطب). The current study has sought to determine perceptions of the King Faisl Uiversity students towards to use of social networking in learning and scientific research. The study’s sample consisted of (84) students from the Bachelor degree in two different specialties that are Medicine, and Computer Science and Information Technology in King Faisal University at Al-Ahsa region. A questionnaire has been designed, arbitrated, manually administered, and statistically analysed to collect descriptive data. The statistical analysis of the questionnaire has illustrated that the participants often use social networking for both learning and scientific research. Most of the participants identified ‘Youtube’ and ‘Facebook’ respectively as the most preferred social networks to get the information for both learning and scientific resources. The results have shown that there are no significant differences at the level of (0.05) on the perceptions of the university students depending regarding the variable of gender. However, there are significant differences at the level of (0.05) on the perceptions of students about their use of social networks for learning regarding to the variable of specialization for Medicine students.
