هدفت الدراسة إلى تحليل واقع برامج الإرشاد والتوعية بسلطنة عمان من خلال اتباع منهجية التحليل الرباعي سوات (SWOT)، وبالتحديد الكشف عن نقاط القوة ونقاط الضعف على مستوى البيئة الداخلية لوزارة التربية والتعليم الممثلة في الأقسام الثلاثة المعنية بالإرشاد والتوعية (التوعية الصحية، والإرشاد النفسي، والإرشاد الاجتماعي)، وكذلك الكشف عن الفرص والتهديدات المحتملة على مستوى البيئة الخارجية المحيطة. استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الخليط الذي دمج بين المنهج النوعي المتمثل في تطبيق استمارة التحليل الرباعي سوات لتحديد وجهات نظر رؤساء الأقسام والمشرفين والمختصين بديوان عام الوزارة والمديريات التعليمية، والمنهج الكمي الوصفي الذي تمثل في تطبيق ثلاث استبانات لاستطلاع وجهات نظر المختصين على مستوى المدارس في المجالات الثلاثة (الصحي والنفسي والاجتماعي). تم التحقق من صدق المحتوى وثبات الاتساق الداخلي لأدوات الدراسة قبل تطبيقها على عينة وقدرها (224 مختصا). أشارت النتائج إلى وجود تباين بين المجالات الثلاثة في نواحي القوة والضعف. بينما وأوضحت تشابه الفرص والتهديدات في تلك المجالات الثلاثة، وقدمت الدراسة عددا من المقترحات الاستراتيجية التي من شأنها الإسهام في الارتقاء بجودة خدمات الإرشاد والتوعية. The study aimed to analyze the status quo of counseling and awareness services at the school level in the Sultanate of Oman using SWOT analysis. This analysis explored the strengths and weaknesses in the internal environment of three departments that mainly focus on counseling and awareness (i.e., psychological counseling, health awareness, and social counseling) at headquarters of the Ministry of Education and educational governorates. It also identified the opportunities and threats related to the external environment. A mixed method was used that combine the qualitative approach in analyzing the input of heads of departments, supervisors, and specialists using the SWOT form and the quantitative approach that assess the perspectives of specialists at schools and educational governorates. The content validity and reliability of three surveys were examined before collecting the responses from the study sample (N = 224). Results showed considerable variability in strengths and weaknesses among three domains (Psychological, health, and social domain). Furthermore, the results showed many similarities in terms of opportunities and threats. Correspondingly, a set of strategic alternatives were recommended to enhance the quality of counseling and awareness services at the school level in the Sultanate of Oman. (Published abstract)
