هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف إلى مدى إسهام نوعية الصداقة بالإدمان على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لدى طلبة الجامعات الأردنية. وقد تكونت عينة الدراسة من 629 طالبا وطالبة في مستوى البكالوريوس. واتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التنبؤي. وقد جمعت البيانات عبر الإنترنت باستخدام أداتي قياس لقياس نوعية الصداقة والإدمان على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي. وأشارت النتائج إلى وجود فروق دالة في متوسطات درجات الذكور والإناث على مقياس الإدمان على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، إذ كانت درجات الذكور أعلى؛ وعلى مقياس نوعية الصداقة، وقد كانت درجات الإناث أعلى. وأظهرت النتائج أن بعدين من أبعاد مقياس نوعية الصداقة تنبآ بالإدمان على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لدى الذكور، وهذان البعدان هما التحالف الموثوق، والألفة، بينما لم يتنبأ أي من أبعاد مقياس نوعية الصداقة بالإدمان على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لدى الإناث. وتم تقديم عدد من التوصيات، مثل ضرورة وجود دور للأسرة في إرشاد الأبناء إلى الاختيار الأمثل لنوع الصديق، وضرورة تقوية الرقابة الذاتية لمستخدمي مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، وكذلك اقتراحات للبحث المستقبلي. This study aimed to identifying the extent to which the quality of friendship contributes to addiction to social networking sites among Jordanian university students. The study sample consisted of (629) male and female students at the bachelor’s level. The study followed the predictive descriptive methodology. Data was collected online using two measurement tools to measure the quality of friendship and addiction to social. Networking sites. The results indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the mean scores of males and females on the social media addiction scale, in favor of males, and on the quality of friendship, in favor of females. The results showed that two dimensions of the friendship quality scale predict addiction to social networking sites among males. These two dimensions are trustworthy alliance and familiarity. While none of the dimensions of this scale were predicted for females, A number of recommendations were presented such as: the necessity of a role for the family in guiding children to choose the ideal type of friend, and the necessity of strengthening self-monitoring for future research.
