The research aimed to investigate the role of teachers of the intellectually disabled in activating support service programs for developing academic skills among intellectually disabled students who are capable of learning. The study sample included (90) teachers of the intellectually disabled. The researcher used a questionnaire as the research instrument and adopted the descriptive approach as the research methodology. The researcher reached several results, the most important of them were the following: The roles of teachers of the intellectually disabled in activating support service programs for developing academic skills among intellectually disabled students who are capable of learning, from the perspectives of sample members, was rated (moderate and low); there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level of (0.05) among the opinions of study sample members on the questionnaire overall, as regards the gender and years of experience variables; there were statistically significant differences at the significance level of (0.05) among the opinions of study sample members on the total score, as regards the educational qualification variable, for favor of those holding a Ph.D. degree. In light of the results obtained by the researcher, he presented several recommendations and suggestions, the most important of them are the following: the necessity of provision of appropriate educational and guidance methods for teachers to enhance their ability to develop the academic skills of intellectually disabled students; and the necessity of organizing more training courses and workshops for teachers of intellectually disabled students in order to raise their awareness on how to provide support services to students.
