The study aimed to reveal the relationship of the dimensions of management-by-exception (powers determination, delegation of authority, effective communication, performance appraisal and evaluation); and the leadership dimensions (strategic vision, creativity, risk-taking, proactivity) among the heads of academic departments from the perspective of faculty members at Tabuk University. To achieve this, the descriptive survey correlational approach was used, and the questionnaire was a tool for data collection. The study community consisted of faculty members (n=932) at Tabuk University, and simple random sample was chosen of (278) of faculty members. The study results showed: there is a statistically significant direct correlation relationship at the level of (0.01) between the practice of management-by-exception and its dimensions and building entrepreneurial leaderships and their dimensions. The results also found that there were no statistically significant differences between the study samples’ response about (delegation of authority, active communication, strategic vision, creativity, risk-taking, proactivity, entrepreneurial leadership) according to the gender variable, while differences appeared on (determining powers and responsibilities, performance appraisal and evaluation, management by exception, performance appraisal and evaluation) in favor of males. The study recommended a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which are: framing the concepts of (management-by-exception and entrepreneurial leadership) as modern concepts in educational administration, and an administrative style in performing tasks and functions, and working to widely spread the method of management by exception. It recommended working to increase awareness of the importance of establishing a culture of administrative methods that work to develop the personal and entrepreneurial aspects of heads of departments in the university, because of their great effects on strengthening the position of Tabuk University and achieving leadership and competitive advantage among other universities.
