هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مستوى مواءمة كتاب اللغة الإنجليزية للصف الأول الابتدائي (We Can1) لثقافة المجتمع السعودي وبيئة متعلميه. لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي (تحليل محتوى). وتألف مجتمع الدراسة من كتاب (We Can1) للصف الأول الابتدائي بالمملكة العربية السعودية. توصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج، أبرزها: أن مواءمة كتاب اللغة الإنجليزية للصف الأول الابتدائي (We Can1) لثقافة المجتمع السعودي بلغت تكراراتها (103) مرة وبنسبة (34.11%)، من إجمالي المؤشرات، وكانت أبرز مؤشراته: التعريف بالزي المحتشم للنساء في المجتمع السعودي، وأن الصور في الكتاب تتناسب مع ثقافة المجتمع السعودي، أن مواءمة كتاب اللغة الإنجليزية للصف الأول الابتدائي (We Can1) لبيئة المتعلمين بلغت تكراراتها (199) مرة، وبنسبة (65.89%) من إجمالي المؤشرات، وكانت أبرز مؤشراته: مناسبة النصوص والصور لخبرات المتعلمين، مناسبة النصوص والصور لبيئة المتعلمين، مناسبة الأنشطة والتدريبات وأساليب التقويم لخبرات المتعلمين. قدمت الدراسة عددا من التوصيات، أبرزها: ضرورة التركيز ضمن محتوى كتاب اللغة الإنجليزية للصف الأول الابتدائي على غرس قيمة حب الوطن والانتماء له والاعتزاز به، وتنمية روح المشاركة في خدمة المجتمع، مع الاهتمام بإظهار المعالم والآثار التاريخية وثروات الوطن الاقتصادية، وزيادة النصوص التي تعمل على التعريف بالشخصيات الهامة والمؤثرة في المجتمع السعودي، وزيادة الأنشطة والتدريبات في محتوى كتاب اللغة الإنجليزية للصف الأول الابتدائي التي تعمل على التعريف بالمشروبات الشعبية لدى المجتمع السعودي، وضرورة أن يتضمن محتوى كتاب اللغة الإنجليزية للصف الأول الابتدائي على التعريف بالاحتفالات الوطنية/ الدينية المألوفة بالنسبة للمجتمع السعودي. The study aimed to identify the level of compatibility of the English language book for the first grade of primary school (We Can1) with the culture of Saudi society and its learners' environment. To achieve the study objectives, the researcher used a descriptive approach (content analysis). This study population consisted of the (We Can1) book for the first grade of primary school in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study reached a number of results, the most prominent of which are: The compatibility of the English language book for the first grade of primary school (We Can1) with the culture of Saudi society reached its repetitions (103) times, representing (34.11%) of the total indicators, and its most prominent indicators were: introducing the modest dress code for women in Saudi society, and the compatibility of the pictures in the book to the culture of Saudi society. The compatibility of the English language book for the first grade of primary school (We Can1) with the learners' environment reached its repetitions (199) times, representing (65.89%) of the total indicators, and its most prominent indicators were: the compatibility of texts and pictures with the experiences of learners, the compatibility of texts and pictures with the learning environment, the compatibility of activities, training, and evaluation methods with the experiences of learners. The study presented a number of recommendations, the most prominent of which were: The necessity to focus within the content of the English language book for the first grade of primary school on instilling the value of love of country, belonging to it, and feel proud with it, and developing the spirit of participation in serving the society, with an interest in showing historical landmarks, economic resources, and increasing the texts that work to introduce important and influential figures in Saudi society. Increasing activities and exercises in the content of the English language book for the first grade of primary school that work to introduce popular drinks in Saudi society. The necessity to include an introduction of familiar national and religious celebrations related to the Saudi society in the content of the English language book for the first grade of primary school.
