هدف البحث إلى التعرف على أثر الوقف العلمي على التنمية المستدامة الاقتصادية (المساهمة في ميزانية جامعة الملك عبد العزيز)، وأثر الوقف العلمي على التنمية المستدامة البيئية (حل المشكلات البيئية والمناخية والتلوث)، والدور التنموي للوقف العلمي ودوره في تفعيل الدورة الاقتصادية وتحقيق النمو، ومعالجة المشاكل الاقتصادية، بما يسهم في تحقيق تنمية اقتصادية دائمة وشاملة تغيرها إلى زيادة الوعي الفردي والمجتمعي عن البيئة والاقتصاد، والفروق بين متوسطات العمر الزمني في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، والفروق بين متوسطات سنوات الخبرة في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، والفروق بين متوسطات المؤهل الدراسي في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، ولا توجد فروق باختلاف جهة العمل في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة. تكونت عينة البحث من (950) فردا، وكانت الأدوات متمثلة في استبانة التنمية المستدامة، وأسفرت نتائج البحث عن أنه يختلف أثر الوقف العلمي على التنمية المستدامة الاقتصادية (المساهمة في ميزانية جامعة الملك عبد العزيز)، ويختلف أثر الوقف العلمي على التنمية المستدامة البيئية (حل المشكلات البيئية والمناخية والتلوث)، ويختلف الدور التنموي للوقف العلمي ودوره في تفعيل الدورة الاقتصادية وتحقيق النمو، ومعالجة المشاكل الاقتصادية، بما يسهم في تحقيق تنمية اقتصادية دائمة وشاملة تغيرها إلى زيادة الوعي الفردي والمجتمعي عن البيئة والاقتصاد، ولا توجد فروق بين متوسطات العمر الزمني في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، ولا توجد فروق بين متوسطات سنوات الخبرة في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، ولا توجد فروق بين متوسطات المؤهل الدراسي في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة، ولا توجد فروق باختلاف جهة العمل في تحقيق التنمية المستدامة.
