هدف هذا البحث إلى معرفة درجة امتلاك طلبة الصف الثامن الأساسي بفلسطين لمهارات اختبار TIMSS في الرياضيات، واتبع الباحث المنهج الوصفي القائم على أسلوب تحليل المحتوى، حيث استخدم: أداة تحليل محتوى مهارات TIMSS، واختبار مهارات TIMSS في الرياضيات، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من طلبة الصف الثامن الأساسي بمديرة شرق غزة حيث بلغ عدد الطلبة (221) طالباً وطالبةً. وقد توصل الباحث إلى ضعف مهارات TIMSS الموجود في كتاب الرياضيات للصف الثامن الأساسي، وتفوق الطالبات على الطلاب في اختبار مهارات TIMSS. وقد أوصى الباحث بإثراء كتاب الرياضيات للصف الثامن بأسئلة وأنشطة تتضمن مهارات تفكير عُليا وأسئلة تحاكي اختبار TIMSS الدولي ودعوة المسؤولين في وزارة التربية والتعليم إلى الاهتمام أكثر بالاختبارات الوطنية والدولية. The objective of this research is to learn the degree to which eighth-graders in Palestine have TIMSS test skills in mathematics, The researcher followed the descriptive approach based on the content analysis method: Testing TIMSS skills in mathematics, the study sample consisted of the basic eighth grade students at the East Gaza Principal, with 221 students, the researcher came up with a poor TIMSS skill set in the math book for the eighth grade basic Students outperform students in testing TIMSS skills, and the researcher recommended enriching the eighth grade math book with questions and activities that include Top thinking skills and questions mimicking the international TIMSS test and inviting officials in the Ministry of Education to pay more attention to national tests.
