يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة ظاهرتي القراءة والكتابة من خلال اختراع الحرف وتطوره وانتشاره في العالم، ويسعى إلى إدراك مرامي تأثير هذا الحدث على المجتمع العربي. كان الاعتماد في سياق البحث على تتبع هذه الظاهرة وتحليل مضامينها والكشف عن العوامل المساهمة في هذا التحول الاجتماعي والثقافي وفق المقاربة السوسيو- انثروبولوجية. حيث كانت الغاية من الدراسة هو توضيح نتائج اكتشاف الكتابة، التي تجلت في الانتقال من المشافهة إلى التدوين، وتبيان التغيرات التي طرأت على عادات القراءة في ظل البيئة التكنولوجية المتطورة، بحيث إلتُمس التحول من اعتماد آليات الطبع والنشر الكلاسيكية المعهودة إلى عادات اجتماعية وثقافية تساير وتنسجم مع هذه التطورات، التي أفرزتها الحياة المعاصرة. الأمر الذي أدى إلى بروز أشكال وأنواع من الكتب والمكتبات الإلكترونية، التي أصبحت تحقق الوصول السريع والفوري للمعلومات من طرف الباحث والمهتم، مثل المكتبات والكتب الرقمية. This research aims to study the two phenomena of reading and writing through the invention of the letter, its development and its spread in the world, and it seeks to understand the goals of the impact of this event on Arab society. In the context of research, the reliance was on tracking this phenomenon, analyzing its contents, and revealing the factors contributing to this social and cultural transformation, according to the socio-anthropological approach. Where the purpose of the study was to clarify the results of the discovery of writing, which was manifested in the transition from oral speech to writing, and to show the changes that occurred in reading habits in light of the advanced technological environment, so that we sought a shift from adopting the usual classic printing and publishing mechanisms to social and cultural habits that go along with and harmonize with These developments, produced by contemporary life. Which led to the emergence of forms and types of books and electronic libraries, which have achieved quick and immediate access to information on the part of the researcher and the interested, such as libraries and digital books.
