The study aims to recognize the concept of private tuition and the other issues related to it and the reasons behind its spread. In addition, it aims to identify the other reasons that cause students to rely on this type of lessons in their studies. Moreover, another aim of this study is to know the general causes of it by referring to the general school responses. In addition, it aims to give suggestions to solve this phenomenon. In fact, the significance of this study relies in itself as it discusses a very important issue in the Omani society. Also, it sheds light on the educational literature on its theoretical and practical sides. The researcher used the questionnaire and the descriptive method as tools for his study. Moreover, the study sample consists of 200 employees who work in the Ministry of Education. The results of the study shows that private tuition spread in a wide range in the Omani society especially in Muscat governate. Also, it is expected that this type of lessons will continue to spread as Omani students rely on them more and more unless the government posts a low to prevent these lessons. In fact, private tuition might cause the Omani teachers to stop taking care of their students in the classrooms. Recommendations of the study are as follow. First, it necessary to post a low, which forbid private tuition. Second, conduct studies to identify the reasons behind the weakness of students' levels in the subjects which students rely on private lessons to study them. Third, consider remedial lessons in schools as an alternative for private tuition with the agreement of Educational directorates and publish leaflets to clarify the danger of this phenomenon. Finally, it is important to raise students' self-esteem and rely on oneself to solve the problems, which are related to this issue. (Published abstract)
