تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تسليط الضوء حول الجهود اللغوية لمصطفى غلفان وبيان مدى مساهمته في تقديم الدرس اللغوي الغربي للقارئ العربي وبيان أسسه ومنهجه وأهم مبادئه والكشف عن ملابسات انتقاله الى الثقافة العربية من خلال قراءة وصفية لمؤلفه "اللسانيات العامة تاريخها وطبيعتها وموضوعها ومفاهيمها" نموذجا للدراسة. فبعد هيمنة النظرية اللسانية الحديثة على الدرس اللغوي الغربي تحت قيادة أفكار "دي سوسير" حدثت تغيرات جذرية على مستوى الموضوع والمنهج والغاية فتحولت الدراسات اللغوية الحديثة نحو دراسة اللغة لذاتها ومن أجل ذاتها دراسة وصفية موضوعية أصبح لازما على الدراسات اللغوية العربية مواكبة هذه التطورات ومسايرتها ومن ثم نقلها وفتح الأبواب لها لتلج الى الثقافة العربية فكان "مصطفى غلفان" أحد هؤلاء الباحثين اللسانيين العرب الذين حاولوا تتبع اللسانيات الغربية منذ نشأتها الى غاية مراحل تطورها. This study aims to shed light on the linguistic efforts of Mustafa Ghulvan and his contribution to presenting Western linguistic lessons to the Arab reader, explaining his foundations, methodology, and main principles, and uncovering the circumstances of their transition to the Arab culture through a descriptive reading of his work "General Linguistics: Its History, Nature, Subject, and Concepts" as a case study. Following the dominance of modern linguistic theory in Western linguistic studies under the leadership of "de Saussure," radical changes occurred at the level of subject matter, methodology, and purpose, transforming modern linguistic studies towards an objective, descriptive study of language for its own sake. It became necessary for Arabic linguistic studies to keep up with these developments, embrace them, and subsequently introduce them, opening doors for them to enter the Arab culture. "Mustafa Ghulvan" was one of those Arab linguists who tried to trace Western linguistics from its inception through its developmental stages. (Published abstract)
