تستهدف الدراسة الحالية التحقق من الخصائص السيكومترية لصورة معربة لقائمة القيم الفاعلة وقوى الشخصية والفضائل لدى المراهقين (VIA- Youth) في البيئة البحرينية. وهذه القائمة تقيس ست فضائل رئيسة، وهي: الحكمة والمعرفة والشجاعة، والإنسانية، والعدالة، والاعتدال والتسامي. وتقابل هذه الفضائل مجموعة من أربعة وعشرين من قوى الشخصية. قام الباحث بترجمة الصورة الأصغر للقائمة، والتي تتكون من (96) فقرة، إلى اللغة العربية، وتم تطبيقها على عينة عشوائية من (424) فردا من طلبة المدارس الثانوية في مملكة البحرين تتراوح أعمارهم من (15-17) عاما. وتم التحقق من صدق القائمة عن طريق استخدام التحليل العاملي الاستكشافي والتوكيدي، حيث تبين أنها تقيس أربعة عوامل أساسية، تم تسميتها بقوى الشخصية الفكرية والدينية والبينية والانفعالية. وقد بلغ معامل ثبات القائمة 89,0 فيما تراوحت قيم معاملات الارتباط بين الفقرات والدرجة الكلية للقائمة بين 39,0 -51. وهو دليل على صدقها البنائي. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج، يوصي الباحث بتطبيق الصيغة المعربة للقائمة على المراهقين في دول عربية أخرى، مما سيوفر الأرضية لتقنين الأداة في البيئة العربية. Inventory of Strengths (VIA-IS; Park & Peterson, 2006), in the Bahraini context. The Inventory measures six virtues: Wisdom & knowledge; courage; humanity; justice; temperance and transcendence, along with 24 of character strengths. The author translated the shortest form of the VIA-IS, which contains 96 items, to Arabic, and then the tool was administered to a random sample of 424 high school students (15 - 17 years) in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses revealed four major factors, which are labeled as the intellectual, spiritual, interpersonal and emotional character strengths. The internal consistency of the measure was .89, while the item-total correlation indices ranged between 0.39 and 0.51, an evidence of the construct validity of the Inventory. In the light of these findings, the author recommended that the Arabic version of the (VIA) on the adolescents should be utilized in other Arab countries in order to subsequently standardize the developed tool in the Arabic context.
