إرتبطت حركة المعايير التربوية الحديثة بصورة عامة نتيجة تقرير أمة في خطر الذي صدر في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في العام (1983)، حيث بين هذا التقرير أن هناك خللاً في النظام التعليمي الأمريكي، مما دفع المسؤولين إلى البحث في كيفية تحسين التعلم وتحديد الجوانب المعرفية والمهارية والوجدانية التي يجب أن يكتسبها المتعلم. وتكمن أهمية الدراسة في أنها تسعى للتعرف على مدى وعي معلمي العلوم في فلسطين والأردن بأهمية معايير العلوم للجيل القادم في تمكين طلبتهم من مواكبة تطورات العصر من وجهة نظرهم. وأجريت الدراسة على عينة قوامها (76) من معلمي العلوم في فلسطين والأردن خلال الفصل الأول من العام الدراسي (2019-2020)، وتم اختيارهم بطريقة العينة العشوائية البسيطة. وبناء على نتائج الدراسة أوصى الباحثان بمجموعة من التوصيات من أهمها، ضرورة تضمين معايير العلوم للجيل القادم (NGSS) في كتب العلوم لإعداد الطلاب للمستقبل وسوق العمل. The movement of modern educational standards has been associated in general with the result of a nation in danger report that was issued in the United States of America in the year (1983), where this report showed that there is a defect in the American educational system, which prompted officials to research how to improve learning and define the cognitive, skill and emotional aspects That the learner must acquire. The importance of the study lies in the fact that it seeks to know the extent of awareness of science teachers in Palestine and Jordan of the importance of science standards for the next generation in enabling their students to keep pace with the developments of the age from their point of view. The study was carried out on a sample of (76) of science teachers in Palestine and Jordan during the first semester of the academic year (2019-2020), and they were chosen using a simple random sample method. Based on the results of the study, the researchers recommended a set of recommendations, the most important of which is the necessity to include the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) in science books to prepare students for the future and the job market.
