هدفت الدراسة للتعرف على أنواع الأوقاف التعليمية وأثرها على التعليم في التاريخ الإسلامي والتحديات التي تواجه الأوقاف التعليمية في العصر الحالي، وتم استخدام المنهج التاريخي والوصفي التحليلي لتحقيق أهداف الدراسة. وأشارت النتائج إلى تنوع الأوقاف التعليمية في المساجد والمكتبات العامة والخاصة والمدارس والكتاتيب والخانات والمسقفات والمواصلات؛ مما ساعد على تيسير العملية التعليمية وانعكست آثاره على الناحية العلمية والتعليمية والاجتماعية والمالية والإدارية، كما تواجه الأوقاف عدداً من التحديات تتلخص في الإطار القانوني والتنظيمي، وأصول الوقف غير المطورة، والعائدات المنخفضة، والإدارة والحوكمة، والوعي والمعرفة بالوقف. وأوصت الدراسة على العمل في إيجاد سبل هادفة للتغلب على التحديات التي تواجه الأوقاف التعليمية. The study aimed at recognizing the types of educational endowments and their effect on education in Islamic history and the challenges facing educational endowments in the current days. Historical and analytical descriptive approach were implemented to achieve the study objectives. The study results may be summarized in the diversity of educational endowments in mosques and public and private schools, libraries, schools, khans, properties tax, and transportation. This helped to facilitate the educational process and reflected on scientific, educational, social, financial, and administrative aspects. The endowments also face several challenges, which may be summarized in the legal and regulatory framework, undeveloped endowment assets, low returns, management, governance, awareness, and knowledge of endowment. The study recommended working in finding purposeful ways to overcome the challenges facing educational endowments. (Published abstract)
