The present study aimed to investigate the career maturity levels among students who were majoring in counseling and mental health in the School of Educational Sciences at the University of Jordan and the influence of reason in their choice of specialization, as well as exploring the relation between academic year level (first year to fourth year) and the students’ career maturity. The descriptive survey method was used in this study. A total of 620 students participated in this study. The Career Maturity Inventory-Form C (CMI-C), originally prepared by John Crites and adapted to the Jordanian context by Hala Al-Masoud in 2018, was used to collect the data. Both descriptive and inferential statistics, such as Mean, Standard Division, ANOVA, Scheffe’s Test, and Point Biserial Correlation Coefficient, were used to analyze and interpret the data. The results indicate that students had career maturity and that their reasons for choosing their specialization influence their career maturity. There was also a statistically significant positive correlation between the students’ academic year level and their career maturity. (Published abstract)
