The current study deals with the importance of digital education in all its elements and the need for teaching staff to possess the skills associated with it, as a result of the massive revolution in the field of education and communication technology, which led to breaking the geographical and temporal barriers between the countries of the world. This revolution also caused changes and developments in the nature of the teaching and learning processes, and was reflected in the field of educational technology, many technological innovations appeared, whose activation and employment in the educational process became an imperative necessity to benefit from them in improving the quality of the academic educational process. The study aims to identify the role of digital skills and their importance in academic education, revealing quality indicators in the academic educational process. In addition to identifying the role of the teaching staff regarding the integration of technology in education and the development of digital skills, the study relied on the analytical descriptive approach through reviewing and analyzing the literature and previous studies related to this topic. Technology and enhancing their digital skills and methods of employing them in the academic educational process, making available and employing digital resources in the academic educational process, creating academic legislation governing the digital environment and all issues related to information, its dissemination and use, and protecting intellectual rights, in addition to encouraging teaching staff to practice digital archiving of their research and lectures in order to make them available for other teaching staff as well as for students through their personal websites or the websites of their scientific faculties and departments.
