تفحصت الدراسة مدى رغبة معلمي مادة الدراسات الاجتماعية للاستمرار بالتدريس عبر الإنترنت في المستقبل، كما درست العوامل التي تؤثر على هذا الاستعداد، هذا بالإضافة إلى التحقق من مدى وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية في هذا الاستعداد بين الذكور والإناث. قام الباحث بتطبيق استبانة مكونة من 37 بنداً على عينة من 283 مدرساً كويتية للدراسات الاجتماعية من كلا الجنسين. وأظهرت النتائج أن عينة الدراسة لم تبد استعدادا متميزاً في هذا الشأن، بيد أنها أظهرت أن العوامل المتصلة ببيئة التعلم كانت هي العوامل الأكثر ردعا لهذه الرغبة بين المعلمين. هذا ولم تكن الاختلافات بين المدرسين والمدرسات ملحوظة في هذه الدراسة. واختتم الباحث الدراسة ببعض الاقتراحات والتوصيات التي تركز على ضرورة تحسين استعداد معلمي ومعلمات الدراسات الاجتماعية للتعليم عبر الإنترنت الذي يمكن من خلاله ضمان التعليم الفعال للمتعلمين. This study examined social studies teachers' willingness to pursue online teaching in the future. It also examined what factors affect such willingness, as well as the difference in this willingness. The researcher administered a questionnaire of 37 statement items on a sample of 283 Kuwaiti social studies teachers of both genders. The results showed that the sample teachers did indicate a steep willingness. However, it also demonstrated that the factors related to the learning environment were the most deterring ones. The differences between male teachers and females did not exist in the present study. The researcher concluded the study with some suggestions and recommendations concentrating on improving social studies teachers' willingness to online teaching that can warrant conclusive education of the students.
