تنتشر ظاهرة الانجليزيات المتباينة في البيئات الصينية؛ ومع ذلك، يمكن عمل المزيد لمعرفة كيفية تضمينها في الكتب المقررة باللغة الإنجليزية للكليات الصينية. تظهر دراسة عن كتب الاستماع والتحدث باللغة الإنجليزية المقررة في الكليات الصينية أنه لا يوجد سوى القليل من المظاهر السطحية للانجليزيات المتباينة في هذه الكتب الدراسية، والتي يمكن تفسيرها من خلال السيطرة الأيديولوجية المتعمدة للحكومة الصينية على تعلم اللغة الإنجليزية، ما يؤكد بالتالي التأثيرات السياسية العميقة على إنتاج الكتب الدراسية الإنجليزية في الصين إلى حد ما. ومع ذلك، تجري هذه الدراسة تحليلا نقديا للخطاب يبرز مظاهر انجليزيات متباينة في درس محدد من كتاب دراسي في الاستماع والتحدث باللغة الإنجليزية قامت بنشره إحدى دور الطباعة المرموقة في الصين. The phenomenon of Unequal Englishes pervades Chinese contexts; however, more can be done to find out how it is embedded in Chinese college English textbooks. A study of Chinese college English listening and speaking textbooks shows that there are only few surface manifestations of Unequal Englishes in these textbooks which might be explained by the Chinese government’s deliberate ideological control of English learning, thus confirming profound political influences on the production of English textbooks in China to a certain degree. This study, however, conducts a Critical Discourse Analysis which surfaces manifestations of Unequal Englishes in a specific lesson of a Chinese college English listening and speaking textbook published by a prestigious press in China.
