تعد القيادة أداة تطوير أساسية للمجتمعات المعاصرة، سواء على المستوى القومي أم على مستوى مؤسساته وقطاعاته الخدمية، ومن بينها المؤسسات التعليمية. وقد لا يرجع ما يعانيه التعليم المصري المعاصر من مشكلات وأزمات تعوق حركة تقدمه نحو تحقيق مجتمع المعرفة إلى الفقر أو النقص في الموارد البشرية والمادية بقدر ما هو أزمة في إدارة التعليم ومؤسساته. وفي إطار التنبؤات المستقبلية بأن المعرفة سوف تتضاعف كل (72) يوما بحلول عام (2020م) وأن الأفراد سوف يستخدمون (1%) من المعرفة الحالية بحلول عام (2050م) أضحى تحقيق أبعاد مجتمع المعرفة أولوية لدى القيادات المدرسية بالتعليم قبل الجامعي بصعيد مصر، تستطيع من خلالها أن تسهم في بناء مجتمع المعرفة والاستثمار في رأس المال المعرفي. استهدفت الدراسة الوقوف على دور القيادة المدرسية في تحقيق أبعاد مجتمع المعرفة بالتعليم قبل الجامعي بصعيد مصر، واستخدمت المنهج الوصفي، لجمع البيانات المتعلقة بموضوعها، وعرضت إطاراً نظرياً حول القيادة المدرسية، ومجتمع المعرفة من منظور أدبيات الفكر الإداري المعاصر، وكشفت عن واقع دور القيادة المدرسية في تحقيق أبعاد مجتمع المعرفة من وجهة نظر عينة الدراسة من المعلمين بثلاث محافظات مصرية، وخلصت إلى آليات تنفيذية من شأنها دعم دور القيادة المدرسية في تحقيق الأبعاد الاقتصادية، التكنولوجية، الاجتماعية، الثقافية، والسياسية لمجتمع المعرفة. Leadership is deemed to be a main development technique used in contemporary societies, be it on the national level, organizational level, or service providing sectors including the educational institutions. The problems and crises faced by the Egyptian education system, hindering its move to achieve a society of knowledge, are not attributed to poverty or shortage of human and material resources. Rather, they are attributed to a crisis in education management of institutions. According to a framework of future prospects, it states that knowledge will be doubled every 72 days by 2020, and that individuals will use 1% of the currently available knowledge by 2050, then achieving the dimensions of a society of knowledge has become a priority for school leaders of pre-university in upper Egypt. This priority is meant to contribute to building a society of knowledge and investment in knowledge as capital. This study aimed to identify the role of school leadership in achieving the dimensions of society of knowledge in pre-university in upper Egypt. The study used the descriptive methodology in related data collection. It, thus, provided a theoretical framework on school leadership, and the society of knowledge from the perspectives of the contemporary managerial research literature. Also, the study investigated the status quo of the role of school management in achieving the dimension of a society of knowledge from the perspectives of the sample taken from teachers from three different governorates in Egypt. Ultimately, this study provide applicable mechanisms that support the role of school leadership in achieving the economic, technological, social, cultural, and political dimensions of the society of knowledge.
