تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحسين استخدام الزمن الماضي البسيط باعتماد منهج تحليل الخطاب التي تعزز استعماله في النصوص السردية. اخترنا المنهج التجريبي الحقيقي المكون من ثلاث مراحل: أولا ما قبل الاختبار وثانيا ثلاثة دروس تدريبية وثالثا ما بعد الاختبار لكي نأكد على صحة الفرضية. وُزّعت الاختبارات لأربعين طالبا من طلبة السنة الثانية إنجليزية ليسانس بجامعة قاصدي مرباح في ورقلة. حللنا المشاكل المختلفة التي تواجه مستعملي اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة أجنبية وكذلك عندما يستخدمون الماضي البسيط في النصوص السردية وهذا كله بعد جمع المعطيات. يسعى منهج تحليل الخطاب لإيجاد الحلول المناسبة للصعوبات المذكورة أنفا. Grammar is considered as one of the most important components that help EFL learners to communicate using English language. Writing effectively requires the appropriate use of tenses. The aim of this study is to enhance the use of the past simple tense in narration by adopting discourse analysis as an approach that enhances the use of the simple past tense in narrative texts. In order to confirm the hypothesis, we opted for a true-experimental method which consisted of a pre-test, three lectures and a post-test. The tests were administered to 40 students of second year licence students at KMUO. After gathering data and analyzing the different problems EFL learners face when using the simple past tense in narration, finding out the solution to these difficulties is what discourse analysis can provide. La grammaire est considérée comme l'un des composants les plus importants qui aident les apprenants EFL à communiquer en utilisant la langue anglaise. L'écriture efficace nécessite l'utilisation appropriée des temps. Le but de cette étude est d'améliorer l'utilisation du passé simple dans la narration en adoptant l'analyse du discours comme une approche qui améliore l'utilisation du passé simple dans les textes narratifs. Afin de confirmer l'hypothèse, nous avons opté pour une véritable méthode expérimentale qui consistait en un pré-test, trois cours magistraux et un post-test. Les tests ont été administrés à 40 étudiants de deuxième année de licence au KMUO. Après avoir collecté des données et analysé les différents problèmes auxquels les apprenants EFL sont confrontés lorsqu'ils utilisent le passé simple dans la narration, trouver la solution à ces difficultés est ce que l'analyse du discours peut fournir.
